Things Of Beauty And Joy Forever (Thankful To Thirties) #superbloggerchallenge2018

I used to read a lot of magazines in my Twenties. Just like many, I was obsessed with looks. One day while flipping through the pages, something caught my gaze, ‘According to a survey, a woman is most beautiful around the age of 33’. Out of curiosity, I read the entire column. The reason given was simple. Because by this age, she achieves most of the goals of her life; She has a career, engaged in a relationship, and in most cases, has become a mother! The bundle of all the achievements makes her glow with an unusual aura. I was amazed by the survey, or, better to say, I was excited to meet my most beautiful version!

I reached the mark, crossed it as well, Did I feel beautiful? Yes. Was it the most beautiful version of ME? well, I don’t think so!
However, Initially I believed so but as the days passed, months, and years went by, I had a realization. Beauty has nothing to do with looks! Looks are ephemeral, and beauty…It’s a deeper thing. It is something that gives joy from within irrespective of age.The hard times that life gave me, have eventually led to a satisfaction, an immense sense of accomplishment, and the struggles have refined me, as a human being. I trust my abilities, and that, makes me beautiful like no one. My beauty is not defined by a number, it’s eternal because my journey is unique; I always was beautiful, but the realization came late, cause the wisdom didn’t come early. As the wisdom teeth make my jaw pain every once in a while, I thank my thirties for letting me know my worth.
My Thirties presented me with opportunities to test my capabilities, to explore new possibilities. There are many important milestones that I achieved. Here, Sharing a few:

As the Thirties dawned, ambitions asked for moving out of the comfort of home to a land, known to me for all wrong reasons as far as the status of a female is concerned. Scared yet determined, we two, I and Mr CoolHead, tried to find our niche, and met many kind souls in the process. The conception changed, barriers broke open, and the fear of unknown, vanished. There, I tasted the fruit of boundless Freedom, and learned how to take care of yourself without expecting a hand on your shoulder.

They say ‘Motherhood completes a woman’, and I can’t agree more. This was a life changing event which made me realize how blessed I am to procreate and nurture a life within me! It was nothing short of magic. Each passing moments transformed me in to a sensible, more responsible person. My thirties gave me my life’s most precious gift, my daughter. And needless to say, I understand what my mother meant when she said “You’ll only understand when you’ll be a mother.” Yes, I understand Mom. For all your love, I am Indebted, till my last breath.

No one told me about blogging! None of my friends, relatives, even acquaintances ever heard about it! I always have loved to note down things, make stories, write them down on paper but being a little chaotic, it was hell of a job to handle those piles. I tried to write for e-zine once (if anyone knows about) many years back. It didn’t appeal to me. One day, while browsing Facebook, out of habit, I clicked a link, and voila! the very same day, I was registered with WordPress. As they say, ‘What is destined for you definitely finds your way’. I found my portal to this virtual world. This was just the beginning. After two years of an interesting journey of writing, reading and interacting, this year, I ended up with a self-hosted site, of-course not without many hit and trials. Finally, I own my blog! The credit goes to an Indiblogger meet I attended last year where humble bloggers insisted on owning one’s site. Plus, I got somewhat regular on twitter, the account was kind of hibernating for long.

Super Blogger Challenge

Tweeter one day, took me to Dr Amrita’s announcement of super blogger challenge 2018. Fast forward to this day; I am in 7th week of the Challenge and has also made it to the Hall of Fame, twice.
