How To Get Back To Shape Post Child Birth?

We all want to stay fit. Don’t we mommies?

But at the same, how many of us dare step out of our comfort zone and push the boundaries? Even if we do, it’s not certain for how long! Enthusiasm to daily hit the gym soon takes back seat. Mostly, it’s the inability to find special time for ourselves because we believe to keep our health last in the priority list. Plus not to forget the habit of procrastination.
Admit it, we all have been there. But what if there is a workout, which can be easily performed at home, without the guidance of a trainer, and is hell effective. Would you go for it? Well, I did, that too after undergoing a C-section, and I can’t tell you how glad I am.
What you have to do?
Just rise a little earlier than the Sun so that it meets you face-on. Stand with folded hands on your yoga mat in the open terrace, inhale, exhale, and chant ‘Om Suryay Namah’.

What am I Talking about?
By now you must have guessed, I am talking about none other than our age old tradition of doing Surya-Namaskar. We know the Sun has a special place in Hindu mythology. People of this country have been practicing this physical prostration to Sun (Surya Namaskar) for ages as Nity Vidhi (daily mandatory routine). It, indeed, is a powerful ritual if you succeed in practicing daily.

It is a sequence of exercises of whole body along with proper breathing techniques. Each set is made up of 12 steps. At the beginning of each set a chant is said in various names of Sun. Begin with 4 rounds. Make sure to do it empty stomach. Twelve rounds of Surya Namaskar are considered ideal. It is up to you to increase the number gradually which is said to be 108 in traditional mentions.
Surya Namskar is not just a salutation but a complete body workout which helps connect mind, body, and soul.
In addition, it,
• Increases the blood circulation resulting in better skin and hair
• Helps in attaining muscle tone
• Is effective in weight loss
• Calms the nerves so works anti anxiety
• Best performed outdoors facing east
• Breathing should always be done via nose
• Don’t overstretch

The rays of rising sun are said to have therapeutic properties and A 30 minute workout of Surya Namaskar burns 417 calories.

So what are you waiting for? Wake up tomorrow and start working out for you physical and mental well-being. In addition, you’ll also experience a feel good factor as Surya Namaskar helps you connect to our roots…and you’ll pass a tradition to your kids as well.

All the best.
